For the past twenty years Eric and Florian have operated the RESIDENCE LINAREVA in Moorea, Tahiti. Then they decided to join forces with Raimaru, their highly skilled assistant, to create a small “sauvage” paradise on the atoll of Fakarava.

RAIMITI (where the sky meets the sea). Can you do without noise, lights, nightclubs, plastic, concrete, city smells, air conditioning, television and other trappings of modern life? RAIMITI is a privileged place that we need to respect and protect. This is an ideal setting where you can get in touch with your inner being, find peace to renew your energies, and let go of the useless encumbrances that block your modern life.

RAIMITI will help you to live a truly authentic experience, far from it all.

- Here you will find the traditional Polynesian hospitality you have heard so much about.
- You will share the warm atmosphere of a guest house that combines comfort and quality.
- Above all, each customer is welcomed as a friend.

Everything was conceived and thought out by using local materials to their best advantage. Electricity is supplied by renewable energy with a concern of protecting the environment. An abundance of good quality water is available; however, we recommend that you do not waste this treasure.

We wanted to integrate into this area by respecting it to the maximum. Special attention was given to everything that concerns your well-being: from the furnishings in your fare to the snorkeling equipment, as well as the library, linens, dishes and our diverse collections of seashells and objects that we love.

Everything is there for your pleasure and we thank you in advance for respecting this little haven of happiness. Each fare is sufficiently isolated from the others to preserve intimacy. There is no door and no key, which is the way we want it to be. These bungalows are very well ventilated naturally; you will appreciate the ocean breeze that cools you while you sleep. Light from the hurricane lamp and candle will bring magic to the tropical night.

Check out what past guests have to say:

Fare Crusoe: Larger bungalow located on the reef side of the "motu," panoramic view on the ocean. Private (inside) shower bath (hot water) 1 king size bed and 1 single bed

Even though Raimiti is far from everything and provisioning is difficult, you will be seduced by the palette of the varied meals you will be served.

According to your desire of the moment, you can choose refreshing tropical cocktails as well as a selection of drinks, with or without alcohol.

During special evenings you will have the occasion to enjoy your meal outdoors, served under fragrant “kahaia” trees.

The sound of the “pu” shell will announce that your meal is ready. You can join the host's table or dine alone; it is important that you feel at ease, free and without any obligation.

Area description

Fakarava is classified as a "reserve of the biosphere" by UNESCO.

Discovered by Bellinghausen on July 17, 1820.

Other names: Havai'i or Havaiki, Farea.
Nickname: end of the world.

The atoll of Fakarava is 60 km long and 25 km wide, with a depth of 30 to 50 meters. Ngarue, on the north end of the atoll, is 1600 meters wide and is the largest pass in French Polynesia. Tumakohua pass on the south end is more modest, with a width of 200 meters.

There is very little difference in temperature between the austral winter (June to August) and the hot season (January to March). Temperature averages 27º to 30º all year long.

Raimiti is located on the opposite side of Fakarava from the airport. There is no road and the only way to reach the site is to take our “kau” boat from the airport or village.

During the 1 hour 30 minute trip inside the lagoon, you will feel yourself beginning to forget the “world” that you know, as you are transported to the enchanting world of RAIMITI .

We follow the coast past the motu islets, beaches, coconut forests and coral reefs. You will notice that the further we get from the village, the more untamed the scenery becomes.

Finally, we reach a pier seemingly in the middle of nowhere. This is where RAIMITI is hidden, between the lagoon and ocean, in the midst of a big coconut plantation.
