Villa Cascadas - Punta Mita, Mexico

This spectacular villa was finished to the highest standards in 2006 by the renowned builder Juan Pablo Stone of Stone Contractors. The design by Vallarta architect Luis Manuel Carcamo seeks to maximize the beauty of nature in 10,000 sq ft of living space spread over five levels. The interior courtyard is dominated by a three level waterfall cascading from the entry to the living room. The living room itself opens directly on to the large patio and pool which dramatically disappear into the ocean beyond. Each of the five bedrooms has a full bath en suite and a private terrace or garden patio. Dining is either at the 12 person table in the dining room or alfresco under the patio palapa overhanging the bay. After dinner, finish your cocktail while wondering out on the patio to gaze at the endless stars and the lights of Vallarta, sometime you are even lucky enough to see the fireworks.

The Villa has a welcoming yet unobtrusive staff to take care of your needs. Included in your stay will be a spectacular daily breakfast and dinner. This could include fresh fruit and huevos rancheros in the morning to shrimp rellanos or grilled fish in the evening. Serafina is an exceptional cook (published in a cookbook in the United States) and her sauces are without peer. Clemente is the perfect host with a penchant for making your favorite drink; from the best margarita to the most exotic tropical cocktail. Your room will be freshened daily by the ever discreet Imelda.

Paraiso: Named for the world class wave in front of the house, the Master Bedroom is a retreat of rich tropical hardwoods, intricate stone work and modern art. This large room opens off a private foyer and has king sized bed overlooking the ocean and a private garden. The bedroom may be opened up to the outdoors or you may close the screened wooden shudders to enjoy the cool of the evening while listening to the waves crash below. Outside you may choose between sitting above the pool and ocean on the private terrace or the intimate garden. There is also a satellite television and I-pod compatible stereo along with local telephone. The en suite bathroom is both large and well appointed. There are two vanities, an indoor shower, and then an outdoor shower and Jacuzzi tub in the garden with views to the Pacific.

Burros: At the entry level you will find the garden room, named Burros, after the local’s favorite wave. Though this bedroom is the only room without an ocean view it remains one of the favorites of our guests and thus had to be named Burros. This well appointed room opens up to a very private garden, cool and shaded, offering a private enclave for those that would like to relax. A king sized bed, varied library and en suite bathroom complement the amenities of the room. The Burros room also hosts the office, offering a desk top computer with high speed internet, printer/fax and a Vonage phone system for those needing international calling.

Los Veneros: The first bedroom the fourth level boasts the largest patio, complete with oversized hammock from which to view the cove. There are two queen sized beds in this room and an en suite bath/closet which includes a frescoed shower. There is a large sitting area and beautiful views over the cove and Banderas Bay beyond.
El Faro: Named after the marquee wave in the bay, the junior suite is a bright and sunny room overlooking the cove and its unique water bound tree. Here, you will find two full beds and spectacular views. The large patio is covered by a pergola giving filtered sunlight to its sitting area. A walk-in closet also leads to a sumptuous bath which has two vanities as well as both a shower and Jacuzzi tub.

La Lancha: This room is named after La Lancha, the premier left break in Punta Mita. It lends itself to use as either, a media/ reading room or full bedroom. There are views to both the Pacific and the jungle behind the house. A full bath with shower is en suite and the leather couch that can be converted nightly to a queen sized air bed. The room has satellite television and DVD player for when the sun goes down (or just gets too intense for the little ones).

The Media Room: Just up from the living areas you will find the well appointed Media room. Oversized coaches offer the ultimate in lounging in front of the 50 inch television. Choose from the myriad of satellite options or from the exstensive in-house DVD library. There is also a small seating area that is perfect for your note book computer. The room has high speed wifi, printer/fax and a Vonage phone system for international calls.

Perched thirty feet above the Pacific and overlooking the most stunning cove on Punta de Mita, you will find the luxury of Villa Cascadas. Located less than ten minutes from the acclaimed Punta Mita resort, the residence commands a 180 degree view of the Bay of Banderas; from Puerta Vallarta in the east to Cabo Corientas and the Pacific to the west.

During the day, you may be as active or relaxed as you wish. The patio surrounding the large pool offers sun and shade for those wanting to lounge and read. Our private stone steps lead to one of the most intimate and scenic beaches in Mexico. At low tide, beachcomb for shells and seaglass, search the tide pools for treasure, or wander a few kilometers down to watch the locals surf. Step into the water for spectacular snorkeling or when there is swell, a world class wave. Other activities which can be arranged close by include; golf, tennis, renowned sport fishing, spear fishing, whale watching and adventure activities such as zip-lining.

Surfing:
There are numerous surf breaks in the Punta Mita area. Though the waves are not as frequent as in Oxacca or Michocan, when there is swell, we have good quality and very clean surf. Surprisingly, the best direction tends to be from the west and thus winter is the premier season.
The wave in front of the house is an exceptional right but requires a large swell and a charging attitude. Other breaks nearby include Burros (a soft Trestles style wave), Los Veneros (another right reef) along with a beach break peak, La Lancha (a soft reef peak) and El Faro (the marquee right point). Best access to the majority of spots is by boat and a guide will optimize your water time.
